New Raleigh Convention Center Construction and Road Closings
Please note that from February 15, 2005 until August 2007, construction on the new convention center will cause some lane and road closings in the downtown Raleigh area. The directions below have been edited to reflect such closings and direct you to the parking garage under the BB&T Building (Two Hannover Square). If you choose to park in this deck, the cost is $1.00 per half hour; a maximum of $10.00 per day.

You will pass Jones, Edenton, Hillsborough, Morgan, Hargett and Martin Streets. The next street is Davie Street. Turn left onto Davie Street and cross McDowell Street. Go to the light on Salisbury Street for you will be making a right turn onto Salisbury Street. As you are about to turn right onto Salisbury Street, you will see road construction signs “Road Closed to Thru-Traffic; No Outlet; Detour”. Do not follow the detour signs; continue to turn right onto Salisbury Street. On your left you will see the Sheraton Hotel (blue awnings) and then the 29 story BB&T Bank Building, which is where the firm is located. Continue down Salisbury Street until you can go no further. A “Road Closed” barricade will be in front of you. At this point, turn left to enter into the parking garage under the BB&T Building. After you park in the garage, follow the signs to the entrance to the “Two Hannover Square” building. Once in the building lobby, take the escalator up to the main elevator bay.
